Along with the new 208 GTi and the new RCZ, Peugeot brought along a very minty 205 GTi 1.9 and an old 309 rally car. The rain on the windscreen shows just how wet it was early in the morning. Some more pics after the jump.
Very photogenic cars.

Really lust worthy cars. As a homage I bought these exact wheels for my winter tires.

Fun Fact: The 309s somewhat odd looks, compared to the 205 and 405 of similar vintage, come from the fact that it was originally planned to be a Talbot (hence the odd number) and that in the process of turning it into a Peugeot, they forced the engineers to use door skins from the 205. Don't get me wrong, I love the 309 but it's a little off compared to it's brethren. Don't know if 205 and 309 doors are interchangeable though.

Neat. I didn't know that.
I wonder how many other cars were originally meant to be something else.
I'm fairly sure that the Z3 and Z4 were originally designed as a Triumph revival. They're very close in proportions and design to the Spitfire and GT6 (for the Z4 coupe).

It's amazing how good the 205 GTi still looks. I've always liked the 309 GTi as well, although they're rare as hen's teeth now IIRC.
